Tomorrow there is a possible chance of snow. Therefore, since it MIGHT snow schools are cancelled for the County. I'm originally from Chicago and even though I've been in NC for almost 3 years now this still completely baffles me. I understand that there isn't really any salt trucks here so if the roads freeze it would be very hazardous. But come on....to any midwesterner who has been battling snow all their lives it seems crazy! I haven't even told you that two weeks ago they had a 2 hour delay start for the schools because the temperature dropped below 20 degrees. 20 degrees! In Chicago or Boston 20 degrees probably feels like a nice fall day after all of that below zero and -18 temperatures that people (my family) have been experiencing. But you know what...I'm not going to attempt to look at the pearlie whites on a gift horse- if I just so happen to be off of work tomorrow or the next day due to the weather...well I guess I will simply have to put aside my disappointment:p and enjoy a nice day with coffee, comfy clothes, and books. My husband is hoping that post will be closed as well or at least delayed. Didn't they also just get that two hour delay for the cold two weeks ago!? It's unfair I tell you! I'll make an exception though for the military members who had children that had to take their kids to school on a delayed schedule. But for those single or married men that are sans children...no excuses! I know I'm so mean. :p However, now that he is currently technically considered a student at the moment he doesn't have to report to work until 9am so it isn't like the days of waking up at 4:30 anymore to get to work. I'm such a mean wife. :) Just kidding but maybe I'll try praying for some snow tonight. Not for my sake of course...but for those poor children who never really get to experience snow down here in the south. That's my story and I'm sticking to it!
